Bin Laden May Save Obama in 2012
Politico is reporting that President Obama is likely to announce his reelection intentions in the very near future. And by near future they really mean next week. And, as I will explain later, the President will need to deliver a miracle to solidify his chances in 2012. Many expect the President to win handily, but I think he needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Unfortunately, I think Obama was the rabbit ready. From the article:
The most likely day for the campaign to file registration papers with the Federal Election Commission is Monday, but officials are not committing to a specific date in case some transcendent event in the world would overshadow the kickoff. Obama aides want to tell their supporters first, and so are not encouraging preview stories by the press.Transcendent event? Hmmmm….like blowing up 13 Libyan rebels by accident? Of course not, Obama needs something that can change the overseas debacle into a big win. Currently, Obama is plagued with a stagnant jobs front, a self-inflicted debt crisis, and never-ending war. Based on his philosophical predisposition, he has no chance at solving either the jobs problem or the debt crisis.
But war is a different story. War is about perception. And to change perception overnight, he only needs to do one thing….find Bin Laden.
That single success could reinvigorate a war-weary country. It would also give him credibility as a commander. America hates to lose. And right now, it certainly doesn’t feel like we are winning overseas. Finding Bin Laden will change that in a single heart beat.
